Date:

Tuesday, December 5, 2023 - 5:00pm
Linderman Library, Room 200

Everyone’s talking about the war in the Gaza Strip, but why did it happen now?Why does it raise such a high emotional response? What can we do about it?Come and hear experts in this teach-in and join the conversation. The event will be divided between three 10-minute presentations, followed by an hour of Q&A. Prof. Nitzan Lebovic will talk about the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict; Prof. Sa’ed Atshan will talk about pacifism, peace, and justice in Palestine/Israel. Prof. Allison Mickel will talk about how looking at objects--from artifacts to infrastructure--can reveal even more about conditions of oppression and possibilities for peace.
